Why do carpenters have such big hands?

Carpenters, brick layers, anything to do with construction. They have these huge hands! Almost swollen fingers. TO tell you the truth i wouldn't mind my hands being like that cause i think it looks intimidating. I have these soft little girl hands and im 6'1 215 lbs.

1. they most likely have big hands from all of the work they are doing with them. i'm not surprised they appear swollen because of the long, hard hours spent on construction work. Try exercise and weightlifting, maybe even art to get stronger hands.
