Learning Carpentry

Christmas present for mom?

I am a student so I don't have too much money but I have been learning carpentry for a while now and have a small shop so if someone cold suggest a present that I could make my mother for christmas it would be appreciated. By the way I was thinking of somethig like an end grain cutting board.

  1. That sounds very nice.
  2. Cutting board is nice what about a nice box to store her special memories in or sewing I love timber and a knife block is on my list of thing for my son to make me She will love what ever you make
  3. I think your mom would be impressed if you made her a coffee table
  4. Dude, in the history of moms and Christmas there has NEVER been a homemade present that was not both appreciated and fawned over. (WARNING: if you are over the age of 10 you had better be at least halfway decent at carpentry or woodworking or this comes across as both cheap and half-assed!) If you have the skills then pick several things... A name sign for the front of the house, a coffee cup tree ( Basically a series of dowels coming out of another dowel so she can hang cups on them), cutting board is an awesome idea, how about wooden coasters with felt backs? Good Luck!
