- It's called a concrete nail gun. Powder Actuated Trigger Tool. Ideal for fastening applications such as wood to concrete, wood to steel or steel to concrete. I believe it Uses .22 caliber single shot loads.
- Hilti and Ramset are but two brand names of powder actuated concrete nail guns. Most of them you won't need to hit with a hammer, but sounds like you may need to understand a little bit about the saftey. Treat it as a weapon, don't be careless. There are various powder loads, and lengths of nails depending upon what you are shooting through, and what you are shooting into.
- APAKA has the completely correct answer. ESPECIALLY the part about treating this tool as a weapon because it is one! It uses .22 caliber cartridges just like the .22 gun. It will shoot a nail completely through your hand! Be careful.
- Using these requires a degree of skill and in most areas one needs to qualify to be able use thes devices. Deaths have occurred because of misuse. A good alternative if you have a cement drill is to use an insert and then screws. Much safer and cheaper. The shot for the other tool is expensive.
