I'm going on one of these week long kitchen fitting and carpentry courses, are they any good?

Yes, it is very good you can learn a lot of it

depends what your working backround is coz your not gonna learn it all in a week.
depends on the tutors if they are good the course will be if not it won't also it depends on your abilities in the field
Be careful - some fellas went on one of them courses and ended up in secret prisons somewhere far from home.
The most important is that you will get a good insight into the trade. You will learn safety and how to do things the right way. If it helps you to make a future for yourself then it can only be classed as a good thing. If you plan to be a kitchen fitter you will always have work though its best if you look into supply and fit if you want to make serious money.
